Allen & Heath - Qu-SB

Allen & Heath has expanded its acclaimed range of compact digital systems QU with a new, ultra-compact addition, the Qu-SB. It is an efficient mixing system and audio interface in one. Designed as a stagebox with all the features found in other products of the Qu family, the Qu-SB integrates an iPad as a wireless mobile control interface that handles most of the control elements.
It represents an ideal solution for bands, clubs, project studios, schools, and conference rooms where space-saving is necessary while maintaining uncompromised sound quality and reliability.
The Qu-SB is equipped with 18 inputs and 14 outputs, expandable up to 32 inputs and 24 outputs using compatible AudioRacks (AR84, AR2412, and AB168). When combined with the personal mixing console ME-1 and the Qu-You app for personal monitoring for Android and iOS, it provides a complete and flexible solution for bands and other artists on the road or in the studio.

Qu-Pad Mixing App
Powerful processing and advanced features are great, but they wouldn't be of any use if they were not easily accessible. The Qu-SB is designed to work seamlessly with the Qu-Pad app on iPad, providing super-fast access to all settings, including channel processing, VU meters, RTA analyzer, effects units, scene management, USB audio control, Setup menu, and much more. Qu-Pad connects to the console via Wi-Fi, giving you the freedom to adjust stage monitors from any point on the stage or auditorium, even while setting up the PA system. * Requires connection to a Wi-Fi router or access point to the Qu Network port.

AnalogiQ Preamps
The Qu-SB features 16 AnalogiQTM preamps equipped with zero crossing detection and advanced gain control in 1 dB steps. Premium 24-bit A/D & D/A converters with low latency process the input analog signal and generate the console's analog output. The design of the AnalogiQTM preamps has been refined over many months, offering perfectly transparent sound with minimal distortion, ultra-low noise levels, and a pleasant color for the musical signal type, which many digital consoles lack.

Qu-Drive
Forget about installing sound card drivers and control software. The Qu-SB features a built-in multitrack USB recorder with 18 channels (48 kHz) for recording and playing back 24-bit digital audio directly to/from a USB storage device. Recording a multitrack concert has never been easier. Mixes and FX returns can be recorded along with channels, and multitrack audio can be sent to the monitor mix. For quick stereo recording of the main LR mix and other outputs, there is a separate set of controls. A 2-track USB return can be sent to an output, such as background music.

iLive FX
The Qu-SB includes dynamic processing and effect algorithms derived from the processing used in the iLive series consoles, which many respected sound engineers have preferred on their tours over top-notch plugins and external effects units. The Qu-SB boasts 4 stereo iLive FX engines that deliver faithful emulations of legendary classic effects such as reverb, gated reverb, delay, modulator, flanger, and more.

Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM)
The AMM feature is crucial in applications such as conferences, meetings, and panel discussions where multiple microphones are used simultaneously, reducing background noise and minimizing the risk of feedback. It helps the sound engineer control the levels of multiple microphone inputs and ensure that each contribution is clearly heard. The dynamic gain sharing algorithm D-Classic is inspired by the industry standard automatic mixing systems. Up to 16 microphone signals can be mixed simultaneously, with each channel having its own priority settings that determine its "weight" in the overall mix.

USB Audio Streaming
The console has a built-in interface that sends multitrack digital audio to a computer (PC or Mac) via flexible routing: all input channels and the main LR can be recorded simultaneously, or something else can be recorded, such as an effects return, etc.
Returns from the computer can be sent to input channels. The interface is compatible with Mac OS X, and drivers are available for Windows systems. In any case, it will be immediately recognized by any DAW that supports ASIO or Core Audio, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper, and Pro Tools.

The Qu-SB can be expanded up to 38 inputs using the dSNAKE port connected by a Cat5 cable to the AB168, AR2412, or AR84 audio rack. dSNAKE is Allen & Heath's proprietary network solution, boasting a latency of just 105us over cable runs of up to 120m.
The audio racks provide all the power of the Qu-SB and also access to additional outputs for stereo Matrix, groups, or special mixes for monitoring.
