XONE:K2 is a USB MIDI controller and 4-channel sound card. It features a fully configurable MIDI interface with three-color LEDs and USB-powered (or X-Link). The K2 also includes the Allen&Heath X-Link interface for connection with XONE products. The K2 is designed to work with any DAW/DJ application that supports MIDI (such as Ableton, Traktor Pro, Serato Scratch, etc.). The K2 offers 52 physical control elements, 12 rotary potentiometers, 6 rotary encoders with buttons, 4 linear faders, and 30 backlit buttons. This provides access to up to 171 MIDI commands across three layers. The open architecture of the K2 allows for complete user customization. Additionally, the K2 features a 4-channel sound card that can operate at a sampling frequency of 44.1 and 48kHz. Two stereo channels are directed from the PC/Mac to the K2, with one channel going to the headphone output and the other to the main L+R output. This allows for headphone monitoring without interrupting the main output. The main output is equipped with RCA connectors, and the headphone output is provided through a 3.5mm stereo Jack connector. Using the X-Link protocol, two K2 units can be connected to double the number of control elements. X-Link uses a standard RJ45 connector and transmits both data and power, meaning that the connection to the DAW is achieved with a single USB cable. The K2 is constructed from robust plastic and a steel front panel. The potentiometers are secured with metal nuts to the front panel. A special carrying case is included in the package, which can also serve as a stand/base for the K2.
