Driver
The new, highly efficient 18'' woofer is the result of RCF's extensive experience in designing and manufacturing compact subwoofers. The advanced design ensures quick response and controlled reproduction of the bass range throughout its spectrum. The speaker in SUB 708-AS II features high sensitivity, excellent linearity, and high power handling. The suspension shape and waveguide design ensure precise and balanced reproduction. The newly designed basket is highly durable and lightweight for easy transport.

Enclosure
By using modern technologies and integrated DSP, the bass-reflex SUB 708-AS II achieves the same acoustic pressure as a band-pass enclosure without compromising sound quality. The speaker, made from Baltic birch plywood, is covered with a highly durable layer of epoxy paint, and the driver is protected by a robust metal grille. With a 35mm socket, a speaker stand can be easily mounted on the speaker. Two convenient handles on the sides of the speaker aid in transport. Instead of a traditional flat grille design, a different approach inspired by architecture was chosen. This system provides a more balanced grille and better weight distribution when loaded, such as with stage monitoring. The enclosure features non-parallel curves on its two sides to optimize sound reflections inside the speaker, preventing negative sound reflections from the speaker edges that can impact sound quality. RCF subwoofers avoid this issue, mainly due to the curved sides and pressed corners that help prevent unwanted acoustic effects inside the speaker.
