The AD and DA converters operate with a 24-bit depth and a sampling frequency of 48 kHz. The modules are connected by shielded CAT 5e or higher standard cable, through which 4 digital audio channels are transmitted (2 in each direction), along with power and a communication channel with status indicators displayed on corresponding RAD, EXP, HAL, or Mongoose units and in Halogen or Tracker programs. The superior HAL or Mongoose unit automatically checks the CAT5 connection and verifies the audio. The maximum cable length is 500 feet, or 150m. All RAD modules can be hot-swapped if needed. Built-in light sensor dims the LED lights in dark rooms. Halogen and Tracker programs allow for label printing on RAD modules. RANE - RAD27 is an installation stereo USB IN/OUT sound card supporting simultaneous playback and recording designed for connecting a single computer. It is ideal for classrooms, meeting rooms, and presentation spaces. RAD27 uses standard drivers that are part of the operating system, so no driver installation is required for Windows or Apple OS X. Simply plug in the USB cable and select RAD27 for playback or recording. In Windows or Apple operating systems, RAD27 is recognized as a standard USB audio device. The audio format for input and output is stereo 16-bit / 48kHz PCM. Input/Play and Output/Record indicators show signal presence and overload, providing quick verification that the computer is sending USB audio directly to the RAD27 panel. The blue Connected indicator lights up when the computer's operating system recognizes RAD27 as a sound card. When connected to any HAL unit, the indicator is available and programmable in Halogen software. This allows the HAL system to trigger a specific action when a computer is plugged into the USB connector, such as starting a projection screen and turning on a projector via Ethernet or relay command. RAD27 comes with a durable USB cable and a screw-in cable clamp to prevent users from accidentally taking the USB cable.
