The AD and DA converters operate with a 24-bit depth and a sampling frequency of 48 kHz. The modules are connected by shielded CAT 5e or higher standard cable, through which 4 digital audio channels are transmitted (2 in each direction), along with power and a communication channel with status indicators displayed on corresponding RAD, EXP, HAL, or Mongoose units and Halogen or Tracker programs. The superior HAL or Mongoose unit will automatically check the CAT5 connection and verify audio. The maximum cable length is 500 feet, or 150m. All RAD modules can be hot-swapped if needed. Built-in light sensor dims LED lights in dark rooms. Halogen and Tracker programs allow for label printing on RAD modules. RANE - RAD1 features two professional microphone inputs with XLR connectors. Phantom power 24V can be software-activated on the microphone inputs. Euroblock connectors on the module's rear side allow for fixed microphone cable connections.
