Active full-range speaker, power: 1250/2500W, configuration: 12" + 1", dispersion angle 90° x 60°.
Redline is a new line of active speakers from EAW, leveraging the manufacturer's extensive experience in high-end live sound reinforcement. They are specifically designed to meet the needs of professional users in the field of sound reinforcement, rental, and installations. The entire concept and every detail are aimed at making their lives easier.
The Redline series consists of two two-way speakers (12"+1" and 15"+1") and an 18" subwoofer. All three models feature their own DSP and Class D amplifier with 1250W bi-amp power (RL12 and RL15) or 1000W (RL18S). The two-way models utilize the renowned EAW Focusing™ specially developed to compensate for electro-acoustic anomalies in the speaker that cannot be corrected through standard digital processing. All speakers incorporate new DynO™ dynamic optimization algorithms to maintain fidelity at all achievable volumes.
The RL12 and RL15 models offer 3 preset sound settings for standalone PA, stage monitoring, and PA with subwoofer applications.
The symmetrical enclosure houses an easily replaceable amplifier module, allowing for L-R pair configurations. The RL18S subwoofer features a cardioid function for directional bass emission when multiple speakers are rotated. All speakers are equipped with a 1.4mm steel grille, discreet EAW logos in all-black finish, and a durable RoadCoat™ surface coating used in other EAW touring speakers like the Microwedge monitors and flagship Adaptive Systems.
In summary, Redline speakers deliver what professional users need most: easy handling, exceptional sound without extensive tweaking, versatile applications, long-term reliability, and a design that exudes professionalism.
DynOTM is a processing technique that allows EAW engineers to maximize the acoustic pressure provided by a specific amplifier-speaker combination.
Unlike traditional limiting, which simplistically considers the amplifier's output power and the speaker's input power (e.g., speaker can handle 100W or amplifier delivers 500W), the DynO process is more detailed and complex.
By studying the frequency-dependent dynamic reserve of all electronic and acoustic components and applying frequency-dependent limiting algorithms in combination with traditional band limiting, it is possible to maximize broadband dynamic reserve regardless of the input signal spectrum.
