With minimal dimensions, maximum performance, and feedback safety even without DSP, separate passive upper and lower crossovers from a total of 19 elements. The optimally damped volume completely free of parallel walls suppresses standing waves and facilitates stacking multiple units next to each other. Special space damping under the grille and its shape eliminate reflections and diffractions that could occur. An effective bass reflex in direct connection with the surface hides a recessed bi-amp switch, connectors, and allows for the insertion of a microphone stand leg or easy transport behind the MW. The built-in rigging also allows for hanging the MicroWedge, and all four sizes (8", 10", 12", 15") can be successfully combined on stage. MicroWedge monitors are compatible with EAW UX8800 and UX3600 processors, which uniquely correct the inherent deficiencies of each real loudspeaker through EAW Focusing technology.

The MicroWedge MW10 was created through a collaboration between the original inventor of the MicroWedge series, Dave "Rat" Levine (owner of Rat Sound System), and EAW. The result is a dramatic improvement in performance and ergonomics. The coaxial construction of a 10" woofer and 1.4" compression driver with a horn offers a dispersion of a full 90° x 90°. A large opening in the front of the cabinet enhances the lower frequency response along with the floor and also serves as a handle for transport. Thanks to the coaxial design, all frequencies radiate from the same point, eliminating issues with crossover regions, time, and phase shifts. The coaxial construction also allows for a very compact design and low profile. The size of the MW10 is ideal for use as near-field monitors for mixing consoles.
