Denon DJ – Axis 8

 

Denon announced the launch of the new Axis active PA system series at the NAMM 2015 trade show in response to the demand for compact and versatile sound reinforcement that doesn't resemble unsightly hot air ducts. The series comprises two coaxial speakers, Axis 8 and Axis 12, complemented by the Axis 12S subwoofer. As the name suggests, the high-mid speakers are distinguished by the size of the mid-bass driver and, of course, power handling. An interesting feature is the coaxial design of the mid-bass section, which dramatically reduces the overall height of the speaker. The coaxially designed 1.75" driver with a 1" exit allows efficient coverage of high frequencies while minimizing phase shifts. The long-excursion mid-bass woofer provides sufficient acoustic pressure for various system applications.

 

The Axis 12S subwoofer provides a solid 35 Hz deep foundation for the aforementioned satellites. The 12-inch speaker, supported by a high-quality Class D amplifier, surprises in terms of efficiency within such a compact enclosure. All the speakers mentioned above feature a standard 35 mm pole mount for speaker stands.
