The Allen&Heath ZED-436 is a large-format console designed for live/studio use, featuring 32 mono channels, 2 stereo channels, DuoPre™ microphone/line preamps, 6 AUX sends, 4 subgroups, a 7x2 matrix, USB audio I/O, main LR and M outputs. With dimensions of 1135x129x560(mm) and weighing 22 kg, the ZED-436 is suitable for bands, churches, theaters, and AV applications. Microphone/Line Preamps: Based on the preamps used in the PA series, the ZED-436 features dual preamp construction with XLR microphone inputs offering up to 69dB of gain and TRS Jack line inputs. EQ: Each input channel on the ZED-4 series consoles is equipped with a 4-band EQ based on the GL2400 console. AUX Sends: The mixer includes 6 auxiliary sends - 2 pre-fade, 2 post-fade, and 2 switchable pre/post-fade. The main AUX controls are grouped together on the main section of the mixer with an AFL (after fade listen) switch for monitoring. Subgroups: Up to four subgroups can be used to control groups of inputs or apply processing like compression using the subgroup insert. Each subgroup has an individual output and can be mixed into the main LR mix or mono mix. Main Mix: In addition to the main stereo LR bus, a Mono bus is included for routing signals individually, ideal for sending low frequencies to a subwoofer or creating a mono mix. Mono and Stereo Channels: The ZED-420, 428, and 436 models feature 16, 24, and 32 mono inputs respectively, along with dual stereo channels allowing for 4 stereo inputs without using mono channels. USB: The USB interface serves as an audio interface for recording and playback. It can route AUX sends, the matrix, or the main output to the USB output. The USB audio interface is plug'n'play, requiring no drivers for PC/Mac. The USB interface can also be used for an effects loop for software plugins.
