Rane AC-23S

The Rane AC23S is an active crossover that can be configured as a 2-3-way stereo or 4-5-way mono unit.

It utilizes Linkwitz-Riley fourth-order filters for splitting, which are highly effective in minimizing phase correction issues. Another advantage of this topology is the steep 24dB per octave slope. Such a sharp cutoff is excellent for speakers designed for specific frequency ranges, as they are not burdened by overhangs that can cause distortion and potentially damage the speaker.

To further enhance the performance of your actively divided speaker systems, an adjustable delay circuit is available for the low and mid-frequency bands. This circuit compensates for the different physical placement of speakers in each band, ensuring that the sound from them is in phase. Fine-tuning for CD horns is achievable through internal modifications. The AC23S features XLR connectors on both inputs and outputs.
