Allen & Heath SQ6

The Allen & Heath SQ-6 is built on a powerful XCVI FPGA core with a sampling frequency of 96 kHz, delivering unparalleled sound quality, high resolution, and extremely low latency (<0.7ms) in this class of digital mixing consoles. The SQ-6 features 24 microphone preamps and 8 stereo effect units with access to the popular RackExtra FX effects library via the corresponding returns. It also includes 12 buses (group or aux), which are excellent tools for working with and configuring in-ear monitoring, with the powerful Automatic Microphone Mixing (AMM) reliably managing environments with a higher number of microphones. The SQ is a perfect solution for AV, rentals, installations, and live bands.

96kHz XCVI Core
The new SQ5, SQ6, and SQ7 mixing consoles are future-ready with the revolutionary XCVI 96kHz FPGA technology known from the highly successful dLive series. It delivers a coherent mix, ample processing power for all inputs and outputs, top-notch sound resolution, and system latency under 0.7ms.

DEEP processing ready
SQ consoles feature the basic set of DEEP processing algorithms known from the dLive series, including acclaimed compressors and tube preamps that can be used directly within the input channels.

Top-notch IEM system
Excellent ergonomics, compact 12 bus format, incredibly low latency, parametric and graphic equalizer on each bus optimize work with monitors and in-ear systems.

Up to 48 microphones
The SQ-6 mixing console comes equipped with all inputs and outputs for immediate use. Thanks to the "smart" SLink port, existing racks, expanders, and stage boxes are supported (AB168, AR2412, AR84 - 48kHz only, or DX168 for full utilization of 96kHz technology), making physical input and output expansion very easy. SQ can even be connected to another SQ or a dLive system.

Dante, Waves, and more
SQ serves as a central element in a growing array of various applications, network card expanders, personal mixing consoles, and other devices that allow interconnection, customization, and expansion of the system's "heart." It is compatible with Dante and Waves network cards, enabling complex connections for fixed installations or digital splitting between FOH and monitor consoles.

Multitrack
The full integration of the SQ-Drive protocol brings a long-awaited tool for easy recording of multitrack recordings at a sampling frequency of 96 kHz directly to a USB key or HDD. No software configuration or complex installation of precise drivers is necessary to achieve the best results. SQ-Drive also serves as a convenient way to play back your customers' sound files. It features a built-in 32x32 USB audio interface with maximum sampling frequency for multitrack recording directly to a computer. It is fully compatible with Core Audio and ASIO, providing complete MIDI and DAW control capabilities.

Advanced AMM
The new advanced AMM can handle up to 64 microphones, which can be divided into 4 independent AMMs, for example, for simultaneous operation of multiple conference rooms or panel discussions. Additionally, you can choose one of two AMM topologies: gain sharing and NOM (Number of Open Microphones).

Designed for professionals
Fully aware that the working environment of sound engineers and professionals is not a walk in the park, the construction of SQ is prepared for the unexpected. Its metal construction, durable surface finish, and reinforced aluminum illumination strip withstand the most demanding conditions.

Workflow
The Allen & Heath development team is getting closer to the ultimate mixing system with each product. The SQ user interface is centered around a 7” high-resolution capacitive touchscreen and, together with the controls, creates an intuitive and clear environment with visual feedback. Using the drag-and-drop principle, inputs and buses can be easily placed on any channel strip, and the LCD displays above the individual faders can be instantly renamed and color-coded, creating a fully personalized environment for your work style. Each channel features a patented chromatic output level meter.

RackExtra FX
Allen & Heath has gained a respected position in the market over the years of developing effect emulations. In the SQ mixing console, you'll find 8 effect units containing the RackExtra effects algorithm libraries, including emulations of legendary effects such as classic reverb, gated reverb, delay, various modulations, and more. All effects come with their own returns, saving valuable input channels.

Personal Mixing System ME
SQ is fully compatible with the ME personal mixing system, allowing performers to customize their monitor mix. The ME-1 and ME-500 personal mixing consoles can be connected via the SLink port or the corresponding expander.
