Remote-controlled active column speaker 20x 50 W 3.5" with vertically controlled dispersion.
The VSA 2050 II represents one of RCF's latest applications in digital sound technology - an active column speaker with individually powered speakers aimed at creating a vertically controllable sound field. This allows sound to be precisely directed to the listening area to eliminate unwanted reflections from the ceiling and floor, which could affect speech intelligibility, especially in environments with critical reverberation times. A powerful multichannel DSP simultaneously controls twenty 50 W Class D amplifiers that power 20 speakers with optimal headroom.
The latest speakers developed for the VSA II series offer the highest intelligibility and a wide frequency range in line with RCF's philosophy. The remarkable dynamic range of the mid-frequency band is made possible by a magnetic induction of up to 1.4 T from a neodymium magnet, which is lightweight and contributes to the compactness of the entire system.
The system includes several protections and controls for emergency operation. The switched-mode power supply module is connected to the DSP to monitor voltage, current, and temperature status. It operates in 115/230 V AC and 24 DC modes as a backup power source and features active protection against overvoltage and overcurrent. The discreet and robust aluminum enclosure easily blends aesthetically into any space. The speaker is standardly available in black or white, with other colors available upon request.
The speaker is ideal for evacuation public address applications and is very easy to install. Optional swivel brackets can be ordered for horizontal installation. A plastic cover at the base of the column ensures a secure and stable connection. For systems not part of the evacuation public address, remote activation devices are available to prevent switching on and off using electrical switches.
The speaker can automatically power off when not in use thanks to signal presence detection. It is fully compatible with the RDNet protocol, allowing monitoring and control of the speaker over the network (volume, delay - for maximum intelligibility of decentralized sound, fixed and user-adjustable equalization presets, and more). RDNet is not limited to individual speakers - it allows sophisticated control of parameters and routing of multiple RCF devices, configuring sound systems from small to the largest arenas. VSA speakers can also be remotely controlled via smartphone using the VSA Remote App compatible with iOS or Android OS.
