The AC6 is an adaptive column loudspeaker suitable for touring and installations requiring high performance. It consists of six 6” bass drivers and thirty 1” dome tweeters mounted on a CSA waveguide, which minimizes unwanted LF and HF wave interference. Each driver has individual signal processing for maximizing control and sound purity.
The patented EAW adaptive technology allows precise adjustment of vertical coverage for specific room layouts and audience seating arrangements across the frequency range of 65 Hz to 20 kHz, resulting in uniform coverage of the listening area in intensity and sound quality, while minimizing unwanted reflections from walls and balconies. Adaptive coverage is controlled using EAW Resolution 2 software. Coverage presets can be accessed without a computer through the display and encoder on the rear panel of the loudspeaker or via a terminal block for connecting external switches on the input panel.
Up to 10 AC6 units can be arranged to create a column up to 10 meters high. The patented Optilogic technology automatically detects the position and angle of each module in the array, significantly reducing setup time and minimizing errors, all while maximizing system performance. In case of a driver or module failure, the EAW adaptive technology adjusts the system to continue operation with minimal impact on the listening area.
All audio, data, and power connections are parallelly routed to dedicated output connectors to ensure seamless cabling with multiple AC6 loudspeakers. The loudspeaker features primary and secondary Dante inputs, two independent analog audio inputs, and an AES/EBU input for digital audio connectivity.
Each module includes power supplies and amplifiers for two 6” bass drivers and ten 1” tweeters. This design provides redundancy and easy maintenance. A universal power supply with power factor correction ensures reliable operation when connected to any power source. All three power supplies are parallel, allowing the AC6 to continue operating even if one power supply fails.
The AC6 is designed to be visually unobtrusive yet durable for touring. When used with optional connector covers, the AC6 achieves an IP54 rating, allowing reliable outdoor use. All cabling is concealed behind the loudspeaker and routed to other columns above or below it. The modular system layout provides redundancy and full front access without the need to disassemble the loudspeaker, making the AC6 one of the most serviceable column loudspeakers. With 28 mounting points for rigging, quick and easy attachment to EAW and third-party accessories is possible. All EAW accessories meet aesthetic requirements and facilitate easy installation in various configurations.
