ZED-420 is a mixing console suitable for bands, churches, theaters, and AV applications. It features USB audio input/output for easy stereo playback/recording from PC/Mac, 16 microphone/line preamps, 2 dual stereo inputs, 4-band EQ with adjustable mid frequencies per channel, 4 subgroups, 6 auxiliary buses, and a 7x2 matrix.
Microphone/line preamps: based on preamps used in the PA series and utilizing a dual design. XLR microphone inputs have up to 69dB of gain range. The line input is via a TRS Jack connector.
EQ: ZED-4 series mixing consoles are equipped with a 4-band EQ on each input, based on the EQ from the GL2400 console.
AUX: the mixer includes 6 auxiliary buses. Two pre-fade, two post-fade, and two switchable pre/post-fade. The main AUX controls are grouped together in the main mix section and feature an AFL (after fade listen) switch for monitoring.
Subgroups: Up to four subgroups can be used to control groups of inputs or apply processes like compression to a group of signals using the insert on that group. All subgroups have individual outputs and can also be mixed into the main L-R mix and mono mix.
Main mix: In addition to the main stereo L-R bus, a Mono bus is added for individual signal routing. Ideal for sending low frequencies to a subwoofer or creating a mono mix.
Mono and Stereo channels: ZED-420, 428, and 436 have 16, 24, and 32 mono inputs and two stereo channels. The stereo channels are dual, allowing for the connection of 4 stereo inputs without using mono channels for stereo signals.
USB: serves as a USB audio interface for recording and playback. AUX, matrix, or main output can be routed to the USB output. The sound card is plug'n'play, so no drivers need to be installed for PC/Mac. The USB interface can also be used for an effects loop for software plugins.
