The XB-14 is equipped with features specific to radio broadcasting, including telephone communication with callers, fader "start" logic on microphone channels for controlling external devices, internal automatic dimming of monitor outputs, stereo start/cue output for controlling CD players, separate headphone output for mix and guest headphones, communication bus, and much more. Microphone/line preamps: The XB-14 features dual preamp arrangements with gain control. The XLR input gain range is extensive at 69dB and evenly distributed throughout the control potentiometer range. The second part of the preamp with a Jack connector is designated for connecting line signals without the need for any attenuation element (pad). EQ: The XB-14 is equipped with a 3-band equalizer on each mono input and a 2-band EQ on Telco and stereo channels. AUX bus: The XB-14 includes one auxiliary bus that can be used for external processing, effects, recording, and monitoring. MIX B: A separate stereo bus is intended for independent recording of the main mix or for a clean source of selected channels. Remote Control: Monophonic microphone/line faders can utilize the start function to control external devices or automatically mute the speaker outputs to eliminate feedback in a closed room. Stereo channels have start/cue logic for controlling external devices such as CD players. There is also the option to mute monophonic inputs using an external switch.
